Numeracy and Literacy Website

This is the link to a great numeracy and literacy website I have just introduced the children to. We have had a go at some of the games and the children LOVE them. Have a look and you may get a chance to use them on those rainy days at home when your not down at the beach or playing sports, etc.

Term 3 Topic

The first topic for this Term is K.O.S. (Keeping Ourselves Safe). In this topic so far we have talked about why it is important to know your full name and address and have practised writing this information. We have also started to talk about how different situations make use feel. For example: we feel happy when we get a hug from mum. Or: We feel confused when our teacher tells us to read a book upside down. There are still more things to talk about so I am sure the children will tell you all about it as we go. Any questions about this then please ask Mr Cross.

Production

Hey everyone. Kowhai and Mana syndicates put on a FANTASTIC school production at the end of Term 3. It was called...'And so it began...'. It was about the Maori myth of separating Rangi and Papa, the sky father and earth mother. George was our lead. He was Tawhirmatea, god of the wind. Room 3, 20 and 21 all combined to do their dance. The girls were light breeze and the boys were a STRONG wind and a hurricaine. Everyone had a GREAT time and looked fantastic in their costumes.
